For those who don't want to apply firmware updates like this, you might want to use Linux. No printer company is going to work with your distro to automatically install their firmware updates. If your printer works today it's going to work tomorrow.
- aendruk 2y agoThe general infrastructure for this is already in place and widely used: https://fwupd.org/lvfs/vendors/ https://fwupd.org/lvfs/vendors/ HP already uses this for firmware updates to keyboards and mice. Of course distros typically acquire consent before applying them.

- yencabulator 2y agoIntegrate LLM? (I wish I was kidding. https://www.logitech.com/en-us/software/logi-ai-prompt-builder.html https://www.logitech.com/en-us/software/logi-ai-prompt-build...)
- pabs3 2y agoThat stuff would run under Windows, not the mouse/keyboard firmware right?
- yencabulator 2y agoThe gimmick appears to be in some sort of spyware that wants to sniff all keyboard input and record the screen, bundled as a mouse driver.
