How long do you mean by “a while?”
> Building a SaaS … there’s always a risk of failure.
The risk of failure for any startup sits at 80% to 95%. I’d reframe as “there’s always a small chance of success.”
Everyone and their dog is cranking out web sites right now, especially with “vibe coding” the new thing. If you have extensive business domain expertise, a novel idea that adds value, and solid execution and marketing you might succeed.
Getting a dev job right now will likely prove difficult and frustrating, so I understand the appeal of doing your own thing. You can try freelancing, but you will need top-notch in-demand technical skills, business domain expertise, and a good network of professional contacts to make that work.
