FWIW Twitter hasn’t really “worked” since the Elon took over. Only a tiny fraction of tweets can be viewed without signing in. Going to someone’s profile shows tweets in a seemingly random order. Anecdotally, I don’t go to Twitter very often now, but when I do I frequently see the “something went wrong” page. But yeah, if you force users to sign in to view, and also push (allegedly) 80% of those users to other platforms, I guess you can keep things mostly working with a skeleton crew while you dismantle the government.
