Right - this is a big point of what I'm saying which is that people are skeptical that "this time the automation will work out really well for everyone, trust us!" Depends on your timescale, I suppose. But if AI is really about to take over everyone's work then we need to be having a much bigger discussion about what they imagine the billions of people on this planet will be doing in that scenario, and what kind of economic life they'll be living.
