It's mad that the line before the one they quote from Musk's tweet was:
> I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine
And that's either being ignored to maintain a "view from nowhere" journalistic impartiality or insane ramblings are just an expected part of US foreign policy these days.
- ddxv 2y agoI think it's ignored since it was covered 3 years ago, but yeah just wild that the richest man in the world lies so often. He did the same thing with Zuckerberg fight and the John Stewart interview. Makes a bold challenge then drops it later for 'reasons'
- ZeroGravitas 2y agoI just want to underline how different "middle aged man challenges another middle aged man to a fight then makes excuses" and "oligarch chickens out of an interview" are from "oligarch in one country offers to fight a foreign oligarch that is currently invading a third country amd offering to let them keep this third country if they win, which would be absurdly idiotic even if it was a joke but so much worse if you bring it up later as if it was a serious demonstration of your commitment to the third country"
