Independent of instruction set, RISC-V processors will have to learn what ARM lerned. It will take time… yes
- Jtsummers 2y agoDepending on who's involved in the design of the processors, they don't have to relearn anything. Hire the people who made efficient ARM processors to develop efficient RISC-V processors using comparable techniques. This will increase costs for quality chips (those engineers can probably command a very high compensation package), but substantially reduces the time to market for competitive hardware.
