Lots of people deleted their posts and accounts because of Reddit's decisions to kill their third party app ecosystem with API fees and selling of data.
Congratulations on waking up from your coma or escaping from underneath the rock or whatever other circumstance lead to you missing large events from the past few years.
- redcafe2 2y agoNope. Usually it happens in chains. Multiple comments in the same thread one after another get deleted. Sub comments etc. Reddit mods can also give comments hundreds of upvotes with a button. So they lock threads and make it look justified by giving the top comments disagreeing with the thread hundreds of upvotes.
- pogue 2y agoThis is true for a lot of older threads you'll go through and find the poster deleted their account and sometimes all their posts along with it. There's a few tools for this purpose out there, such as Power Delete Suite for Reddit [1] and Redact [2]. Maybe some people can share some others. I'd like to find something I could use to backup old reddit posts then delete them or my comments. https://github.com/j0be/PowerDeleteSuite https://github.com/j0be/PowerDeleteSuite https://redact.dev/ https://redact.dev/
