- nis0s 2y agoWhy wouldn’t it be a good thing? I am not being argumentative, but I am sincerely curious. To me “good” is letting human cognition seek out its limits, and to understand reality and fundamental truths. We cannot do that by confining ourselves to a singular region of the whole universe. We are the only intelligent and capable beings (that we know of) who are self-aware and can question the nature of reality. I would say that it’s a moral duty to be both stewards of truth and knowledge, and seek to understand what we know, and what we don’t know.
