The Gripen engine is US-designed, but licensed and (AIUI) built by Volvo:

- mrweasel 2y agoThat's the old one, the newer Gripens have a GE produced engine. Volvo no longer make jet engines. The JAS 39C/D is using the Volvo RM12. JAS 39E/F is equipped with the General Electric F414.
