It’s a very complicated issue, but I think, at its core, it’s because those other solutions just don’t work. I mean, they work for a lot of people all the time. But they’ve existed forever, and over the past 50 years the obesity epidemic has only gotten worse. Clearly, just offering things as available to people is not a systematic solution to this.
