Cool concept, let's see if they can actually do volume production...
- DC-3 2y agoThere's healthy scepticism, and then there's wondering whether VW can do volume production of hatchbacks.
- metadat 2y agoI'm curious what the final price will be stateside. Claims of a $21,000 price point bear skepticism, these days. Even ignoring trump tarrifs.
- DC-3 2y agoI doubt it will be sold in the US, there is not really any appetite for small cars with limited range.
- metadat 2y agoI'd get one for my teenage kid in a heartbeat. And for around town it'd be fine. Rivian range isn't that much more, they can't even really make it from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe (< 200 miles).
- scottyah 2y agoThe amount of golf carts and golf-cart adjacent vehicles in my neighborhood (and others, 2022 saw $1bn in sales) seem to differ. Although they'd have to be inexpensive.
- astura 2y agoNot coming to the US. :(
- rsynnott 2y agoThey don't even sell the id.3 in the US, so I'd be surprised if they launch this there. It'd be a very niche product.
- arlcode 2y agoThere is zero doubt about that .VW is already building hundreds of thousands of full BEVs every year with 383.100 sold (and delivered) in 2024 [1] What can be reasonably questioned is the final price of the car once it enters production. - rsynnott 2y agoI mean, it's not a million miles away from the eUp, which they produced happily enough for years.
