An organizer's support for kdotcdot's cards makes me want to go to DEFCON next year.
- rdl 14y agoUnless you go to really sketchy private parties in people's hotel rooms, you're probably better off at Defcon overall now than in Vegas otherwise. (Also, I strongly suggest the majority of inappropriate behavior is by the younger attendees; most of the people who have been going to Defcon since the AP or earlier are now in their 30s, many married/kids, have real jobs which mean they have something to lose if they behave badly at a professional event, etc.)
- selenamarie 14y agoThanks! :) I'm thinking next year will be the year I attend conferences for fun, rather than just work. I put it on my calendar.
- rdl 14y agoGo to BSides near your home town, too, if it exists. Fun and volunteer-run, and thus close to free ($15).
