Use 1 km towers spaced every 100 km on the Moon's surface instead. No satellites needed.

- mmooss 2y agoIf the comparison was 4000 towers on Earth compared with 32 satellites in high orbits, and if we assume the same cost as standard radio towers (?), then I'd wonder which cost more - especially over a lifetime which includes servicing, etc. For the moon, it depends on many factors that differ from Earth. The radio towers' structures probably need less material, at least.
