- artimaeis 2y agoI love when prop design goes above and beyond like this - working dials/gauges just look incredible. So cool that a project like this can come together in just 6 weeks.
- _mlbt 2y agoThis is awesome! Severance is such an incredible show. Just so much attention to detail everywhere. I wonder how hard it would be to make a working Macro Data Refinement terminal.
- piperswe 2y agoYou can start with refurbishing an old Data General Dasher terminal! (the inspiration for the MDR terminals in Severance) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bjdrKCmiE0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bjdrKCmiE0
- nivertech 2y agoI don’t get this retro-futuristic trend in modern Sci-Fi …
- pixelready 2y agoWith Severence specifically, it’s a “mystery box” type show, where we don’t really know much about the world and its history. Keeping the tech unrecognizably retro futuristic helps maintain that ambiguity of time and place. Personally I love the aesthetics of the tech. Reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
- nivertech 2y agoI think it’s simply easier for prop designers to do retro-futuristic vs futuristic proper. It’s hard to predict the future, but easy to predict the past.
- ortsa 2y agoSolid titanium side caps!? Did they just have some extra stock laying around? Love a good functional prop though!
- indrora 2y agoProbably looking at the realm of $50/ea for the side caps. Damn https://www.mcmaster.com/9139K37-9139K379/ https://www.mcmaster.com/9139K37-9139K379/
