Every time I ask rhetorically what a known, paid Russian asset would do differently as President of the US than Trump is doing, I get crickets from Trump supporters.
- hnburnsy 2y ago>what a known, paid Russian asset would do differently as President of the US than Trump Well the obvious one is dropping Russian sanctions. Has Trump done this?
- Encounter 2y agoIt seems to be in the works: https://www.reuters.com/world/white-house-seeks-plan-possible-russia-sanctions-relief-sources-say-2025-03-03/ https://www.reuters.com/world/white-house-seeks-plan-possibl...
- DangitBobby 2y agoTimely! > March 3 (Reuters) - The United States is drawing up a plan to potentially give Russia sanctions relief as President Donald Trump seeks to restore ties with Moscow and stop the war in Ukraine, a U.S. official and another person familiar with the matter told Reuters. > The White House has asked the State and Treasury departments to draft a list of sanctions that could be eased for U.S. officials to discuss with Russian representatives in the coming days as part of the administration's broad talks with Moscow on improving diplomatic and economic relations, the sources said. https://www.reuters.com/world/white-house-seeks-plan-possible-russia-sanctions-relief-sources-say-2025-03-03/ https://www.reuters.com/world/white-house-seeks-plan-possibl...
- hnburnsy 2y agoNice find! Would have to evaluate what the quid pro quo is, to determine if Trump is acting as a paid asset.
- DangitBobby 2y agoI think this exact situation is why the original comment was asking up front what it would take to believe Trump was a Russian asset.
- unethical_ban 2y agoSelf-reply: Jeff Merkley asked the same thing to Trump's deputy Sec of State nominee! Others are asking! Now I'm sure I'll be told by my parents that I must have gotten the line from "that reddit site", and I will get to say that no, it's because a lot of people are asking the question.
