I’ve replaced Ruby as the “glue” language on my machine with Crystal, being able to plop out a binary and not worry about the myriad things that can go wrong with needing the entire environment to be perfect, including reinstalling gems for every version etc is such a relief. Bundler is just a frustrating sticky plaster over that. I’d like to give Zig and Nim a go, but Go and Elixir are probably next on the list, simply because I have unread books for them staring at me.
