Was news to me, but crazy enough to seem plausible. I now see a lot of news headlines talking about it.
On the bright side, if that happens, Alfred Nobel’s grave will become a perpetual motion machine…

- kstenerud 2y agoThe thing is, the Nobel Committee for the Peace Prize is Norwegian. And Norway has a land border with Russia...
- geysersam 2y agoThe thing what? That has absolutely nothing to do with it
- echoangle 2y agoYou don’t think Norwegians will hesitate to give trump the peace price if he does what he does?
- Gud 2y agoThey absolutely will not give it to Trump. If anyone will get it, it will be the people of Ukraine.
- jajko 2y agoDude 'nobel' peace prize has nothing to do with actual scientific Nobel prices as they were originally intended, its highly political medal for various political stances and activism dobe by very different people. The list of its recipients with properly shameful past ain't short neither and I don't recall a single one recently which wasn't somehow controversial to put it mildly.
- dagss 2y agoAs a Norwegian ... the odds of a committee formed in Norway to select Trump for the peace prize is just zero.
- geysersam 2y agoI didn't say that. I said their border with Russia doesn't influence that decision.
- echoangle 2y agoBut why wouldn’t it? It seems sensible that Norwegians are more concerned with Russian aggression than the average westerner, so they would also disapprove more of trump, no?
- dmos62 2y agoWhy?
- dagss 2y agoThe committee selecting the winner is formed of Norwegians. Norwegians "average worldview" and sources of information therefore affects who gets the prize.
