- jleyank 2y agoThings like the Royal Society have value due to their history but mostly due to their membership. Thus, if the members decide the society does not reflect their beliefs, or might be seen as a negative, they’ll leave. Their stature due to the literature, their student “family” and the value of their work is independent of any gong.
