This seems like primarily an indictment of zoning in Texas, which famously, doesn't exist and allows storage depots to be right next to residential areas.
They are getting what they voted for in other words.
- jeffbee 2y agoTexas doesn't have statewide zoning but cities in Texas may. College Station has typically restrictive American zoning where virtually the entire city consists of either "rural", "restricted suburban", or "general suburban" designations. These permit, at most, 1-8 dwellings per acre, which is an order of magnitude below what anyone would consider a city.
