But, as someone who also didn't know about the drama before last week or something, I never really liked suckless anyway. It always felt like the same pretensions minimalist movement you see in other field. Yeah it is very easy to make something with barely any feature work well and be tiny. Now try to do the same with something I actually want to use.
- alpaca128 2y agoI kinda agree but it’s easier to apply a few extensions to something barebones than trying to make something bloated fast or make it behave less “smart”. I have a slightly patched build for dwm and st for a few necessary features and that works better for me than most alternatives and it just works. Also when it comes to input latency on Linux, st is still on top. The modern GPU accelerated terminals focus on throughput which I couldn’t care less about.
