The parents' job is to understand what is being taught in school and to fill the gaps. Either by teaching directly or by influencing the direction that the school is taking. There's no reason to make a list of school topics and keep it separate from parent topics (except perhaps in particularly sensitive cases, but that's now what's being discussed here).
