- klabb3 2y agoI don’t think he’s a dumbass. He’s selling pseudo-philosophical guilt-washing to the neo-oligarchs and their temporarily embarrassed billionaire posse, which is a product worth its weight in gold. He hosted the post-election party for all of the trumps, bezoses and Zuckerberg at his estate, so no small player. It’s reminiscent of the growth of the neocon movement – I mean the ideology doesn’t have to be comprehensive or consistent. It just has to be convincing long enough for short sound bites and hot takes, so they can legitimize the rapid transformation of society faster than people have time to refute it.
