- zfg 2y agoBecause there are no Americans on the ground. Because the cause is right and just. Because this is the least ambiguous war you're ever likely to see. It isn't a proxy war. It's a clear choice between right and wrong. Trump is choosing wrong.

- palata 2y agoLook at the big picture: - The US have pushed allied away (nobody trusts the US anymore, and I don't know which country would count the US as an ally today) - The US have humiliated Ukraine and are destabilizing Europe (some of those ex allies) - The US have threatened ex allies (including Europe, again) militarily - The US are threatening partners (those ex allies) economically In the last 2 months, the US have gone on a way to change most of their allies into enemies at an unprecedented speed. Why should the US contribute to helping Europe against Russia's expansionism? In a world where the US have allies, that's obvious. In a world where the US want to be alone, it's less clear, but I would argue that destabilising Europe is not good for the economy, and hence for the average american. It's only good for the US oligarchs who are now running the country.
- lawn 2y agoWould you agree that USA has benefited from being a super power? And that flushing away that status is a bad idea? In Vietnam many Americans fought and died, would you say the same about this war?
- Blackstrat 2y agoIt’s not the job of the United States to police the world. The Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. It is not a strategic ally. It is a dictatorship. The US has been supplying money and equipment, much of which is unaccounted for. Without this aid, the war would have ended some time ago. Clearly, it is a proxy war. What is the US getting in return for all this money? Beyond making Zelenskyy very wealthy and kickbacks to various left wing politicians, e.g. the Bidens.
- zfg 2y ago> It is a dictatorship. Where do you get the idea that Ukraine is a dictatorship?
