Would electrics be ducted jet engines but with a motor instead of a gas turbine?
- rich_sasha 2y agoI think they would basically be just the fan bit of a turbofan (where they replace a turbofan). A turbofan generates some of its thrust from the fast, hot exhaust, which you wouldn't have in an electric fan engine. Not sure about electrifying engines for slower planes, that currently use turboprops. Would that be an electric prop too?
