Would that then mean that the historical practice of red-lining is a “woke” practice, since it injected race and identity preferences into a program?

- wredcoll 2y agoPlease don't lie like that here. There are other places on the internet for that.

- wruza 2y agoOpinions can’t be lies, and from what the internet tries to sneak into my feeds, this resonates pretty well (I mostly get it from the gamers perspective). Ignoring this or calling it a lie creates a tension that no amount of actual good will can overcome.
- unclebucknasty 2y ago>Opinions can’t be lies But, they can be based on false info or deliberately misleading reasoning, or stated in bad faith with the intent to deceive.
- intended 2y agoThere’s no need for good will. If I have to break into the difference between disingenuous, malign, and wrong, I’m going to waste time and calories on a rhetorical approach aimed at wasting time and calories.
- card_zero 2y agoWould you like to be the recipient of good will, or is there no need?
- intended 2y agoI have often not been the recipient of good will. I have then proceeded to earn it, and if necessary through the upliftment of myself and those would hate me. And I’ve also given good will to those who wish to abuse it. I’ve learned that for them, my good will was not what they needed. They needed me to connect with their actual pain, and they operate on “respect me.” Goodwill is a value, which is meant to uphold a better society. If goodwill is not what’s needed to develop good faith, then it’s in the way of building a better society. Today, the currency is attention. Goodwill is abused, so it should be used more sparingly. If the other part of society respects respect, and respects strength, then that is what needs to be provided for them to have faith in your words.
- card_zero 2y agoPossible missing words in line 5: "and they operate on respect me"? I think I can parse that as and they operate on the concept of "respect me". Took me a while.
- intended 2y agoThank you. I think yours is actually more insightful than what I remember writing “they operate on respect” “Respect me” is more insightful.
- wruza 2y agoYou don't have to, have a nice one. Your comment is already over my quarterly limit of being assumed and interpreted.
- rayiner 2y agoBiden literally went to the supreme court to keep it legal to discriminate like that: https://affirmativeactiondebate.wordpress.com/2021/12/01/december-2021-solicitor-general-files-brief-for-the-united-states-in-sffa-v-harvard/ https://affirmativeactiondebate.wordpress.com/2021/12/01/dec... Biden also got smacked down repeatedly by courts for racially discriminatory programs: https://www.foxbusiness.com/media/court-rules-biden-admin-discriminate-racesmall-business-loans-stake-heart-dei https://www.foxbusiness.com/media/court-rules-biden-admin-di..., https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-race-based-aid-farmers-halted https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-race-based-aid-farmer... All that is consistent with Ibram Kendi thought: “The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination.” https://www.penguin.co.uk/discover/articles/ibram-x-kendi-definition-of-antiracist https://www.penguin.co.uk/discover/articles/ibram-x-kendi-de... Don’t accuse me of “lying” because I won’t use your preferred euphemisms and framing.
- unclebucknasty 2y agoWhat's it called when you stole something from someone yesterday, then claim yourself the victim when they ask for it back today, because you already gave it to your kid?
- intended 2y agoI propose moronism.
- fzeroracer 2y agoSo...is Trump banning transgender individuals from joining the military and kicking existing serving members 'woke' then according to your definition?
