- robinhouston 2y agoIt simply means that the symbols are composed of lines – as opposed to a system such as cuneiform. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writing_system#Linearity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writing_system#Linearity for more detail.
