- greatgib 2y agoThe one listed in the Twitter post and also the one that I personally noticed is this one: "Android System Safetycore" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.safetycore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.and...
- greatgib 2y agoDespite what they say, this is "spyware". First they install it without your consent, but they say that it is just optional, to "detect nudity in messages", then governments and related entity could request that it is silently enabled in your back to report everything to them... UK or US style. https://security.googleblog.com/2024/10/5-new-protections-on-google-messages.html https://security.googleblog.com/2024/10/5-new-protections-on... If it is really optional, why was it forced pushed to all android owners? Btw, the shitty thing just requires 2Gb or RAM for usage, so this will also cripple the performance of android devices that were performing well.
- JohnFen 2y agoI don't seem to have this installed. Is it only connected to Messages? That may explain it. I ditched messages a month or so ago because the constant popups trying to get me to enable RCS were actively interfering with my use of the phone.
