When you name a variable "apple" it will directly inform apple and you get a warning for violating their brand.

- burgerone 2y agoIs that sarcasm? I wouldn't put it past them to do that. If it isn't, could you provide a source?
- randomNumber7 2y agoSadly its sarcasm. What is not sarcasm, that I once lived in a region in germany where apples are grown. The local government had a project where they created some hiking trails. They wanted to call one of those "Apfelweg" (apple street or s.th. in englisch), because you know, there are apple trees everywhere. They had been sued by apple and had to rename it. Real.
- zimpenfish 2y agoDo you mean "Apfel Route"? https://www.phonearena.com/news/Apple-Apfelroute-logo-German-bike-path_id115735 https://www.phonearena.com/news/Apple-Apfelroute-logo-German...
- colddevil 2y agoReminds me of the café "Apfelkind" in Bonn: https://www.zdnet.de/88171481/apple-beendet-markenstreit-mit-bonner-cafe-apfelkind/ https://www.zdnet.de/88171481/apple-beendet-markenstreit-mit...
- orphea 2y agoHave they actually renamed it? Is it this project? https://apfelroute.nrw/ https://apfelroute.nrw/
- soco 2y agoOh but it's by far not the single instance of fruit related abuse: https://www.popsci.com/technology/apple-swiss-trademark/ https://www.popsci.com/technology/apple-swiss-trademark/ No matter how much you like their products, Apple is just another corporation playing the corporate abuse card.
- RobRivera 2y agoTalk about 'in perpetuity, for all time, throughout the universe' levels of legal due diligence!
- m463 2y agoA workaround is to set the corporation name to apple corps, apple records.
