Show HN: OmniTools–A Self-Hosted Suite of Open Source Tools for Everyday Tasks

42 points by iib0011 2y ago

It’s 2025, and somehow, there’s still no good self-hosted alternative to sites like ILoveIMG.com or OnlineTools.com... until now. OmniTools is here to fill that gap! It’s a free web-based, open-source self-hosted platform that brings together all your favorite online tools in one place—fully self-hosted and ad-free. Project: https://github.com/iib0011/omni-tools https://github.com/iib0011/omni-tools Why Omni Tools? Completely FREE & Open-Source – No hidden fees, ever. Self-Hosted – Keep control of your data, no tracking, no nonsense. All Your Favorite Tools in One Place – Image, coding, file utilities and more! Beta Version – Just launched, and I need your feedback to make it even better!

Cool. Does it depend on external tools, for example to compress PNG, change GIF speed etc?

Does it allow to setup up two tasks, convert webm to mp4 and convert mp4 to webm, such as all I have to do is drag-and-drop into some shortcut?

For a second I thought it was related to OmniGraffle and other Mac software, from https://www.omnigroup.com/ https://www.omnigroup.com/

The overflow menu on your website shows a GitHub star gazers widget, but it's pointing to Bootstrap's repo, not yours. I was wondering how a new-ish project has 170k+ stars so I'm guessing this is unintentional since you're using Bootstrap for your frontend.
