Kash Patel tells FBI staff to ignore Elon Musk's email as power struggles emerge
- righttoolforjob 2y agoIf we assume the hypothesis that the current officials are russian plants, then since F.B.I already is being taken over and diverting resources away from foreign threats then this action can be either made to A) make it appear as if control is still in the interest of the US or B) avoiding additional paper trails regarding the importance of jobs/functions, since those are anyway being reshaped. Framing it as a power struggle seems really shallow.

- cpncrunch 2y agoStill not necessarily a good idea, having the entire FBI's personnel info going to a potentially insecure sink outside their organization. I would hope any FBI agent with a modicum of common sense would realise that, and would investigate thoroughly before replying at all. And of course, all government employees ideally should do that same. It seems unlikely that that will happen by the deadline, and this whole thing is just going to cause a whole lot of inefficiency.
