Given the website name, I expected them to put more focus on the devcontainer spec as a local alternative. While it's not quite as consistent as running containers server-side, I've seen on-boarding go from a workday or two to before-lunch after properly setting up a devcontainer.json. Honestly, at this point it's more trouble explaining how to set up an SSH key than the development environment. That being said, I would've preferred it if they were based on something Nix-ish rather than full-on Docker containers, but alas.
