I bought one to replace my Explorer 710 BGAN terminal. It's better in every single way, including in wifi performance, and I can run "normal" internet applications now that I'm not paying $6-10/MB with 1200-1500ms RTT.
Before that I was limited to IRC, low bit rate voice and mail/"business specific" apps via UUCP over DTLS.
Magnetically mounted on top of my vehicle, the Mini's usable wifi range is about 100m out in the open.
The only upsides the 710 has over the Mini is PoE (so I can power an IP phone), and it has an integrated battery which is good for 6 hours or so.
