We meet the protesters who want to ban AGI before it even exists

  'AGI, defined by OpenAI as "highly autonomous systems that outperform humans at most economically valuable work."' Where does the value ultimately come from?... If it's Earth's resources, and we increase even further the conversion rate, where are we headed with that? What's the reasonable carrying capacity of Earth? To what degree do we need other lifeforms to support our health? Who really benefits from AGI? (or AI, for that matter... I'm in my 40s and computers sure are interesting, but I would argue we don't need them to live engaged, meaningful lives) ...and by what proportion?
