- blackeyeblitzar 2y agoWas this the same “foreign meddling” we were told was behind the Hunter Biden story? Sorry but all of this sounds like an attack on free speech. I do think data privacy matters, low censorship is necessary, and content neutral algorithms are important. But boogeyman claims of foreign meddling look like actual meddling themselves.

- gwervc 2y agoLooking at how an election was cancelled in the Romania for a few ads or how a Musk twitt is somehow "foreign inference in an election" for the EU, yes the election interference narrative is clearly an attempt at censorship.

- jauntywundrkind 2y agoAny and every story of troubles seems to get quickly flagged or dead here. There seems to be zero counter-balast ehat-do-ebrt against the powers foreign & domestic who would censor & suppress: censoring on HN seems basically a free-for-all with zero accountability. Surely this too will likely fail. Nothing will be done to enable speech where it is inconvenient for someone.
