I think that argument is nonsensical (it's covered well on the CL wiki btw - http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?HowObjectOrientedIsClos http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?HowObjectOrientedIsClos ). CLOS clearly has messages (which are implemented with methods).
