Google Doesn't Want You to Search
- A_D_E_P_T 2y agoFunny how just over the past few years things have gone from: "Is Google getting worse?" To: "Google is definitely getting worse?!" To: "Google is getting worse unintentionally, because they're incompetent." (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40133976 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40133976 - 878 comments) To: "Google is getting worse intentionally, because they're malicious." I feel like they can still turn the ship around, but jeez they've got their work cut out for them. On the PR front as well as in terms of engineering and vision.
- JohnFen 2y ago> I feel like they can still turn the ship around I mean, nothing's impossible, but I don't really see Google being able to change their behavior in a meaningful way. At least not anytime soon. I don't think they want to, anyway. They keep doubling down.
- JohnFen 2y agoI guess I granted Google's wish years ago, but not in the way they wanted. I switched to a search engine that works much, much better for me and stopped searching with Google entirely.
