Using any resource without care is unethical. It doesn’t matter how abundant or free it is. We don't have infinite resources. And using AI unnecessarily or inefficiently or abusively is a waste of resource and therefore unethical. Information is a resource. And bottling it up is unethical. Eliminating people means freeing up resources. So that is ethical. Firing people is unethical. Designate people for other tasks. Bad resources are the responsibility of the person who uses it. Taking shortcuts is unethical. Concentration of resources is unethical. My reflection on AI is from the perspective of resource management. Ethics should be concerned with waste.
