I’m pro non-fossil fuel power generation but I have issues with offshore wind. Right now we don’t have good ways of disposing of the turbine blades and the noise does have a negative effect on sea life. I would rather see wind farms on land, so I don’t see this as a bad thing.
Ultimately though, I’m pro-nuclear and eager to see what comes of small modular reactors.
- ge96 2y agoYeah the offshore ones are just massive/make more power I believe and "out of the way" wrt people complaining about their presence
- BuyMyBitcoins 2y agoAnd there’s the added problem of having all this big machinery and electrical equipment atop the ocean, which is the most insidiously corrosive thing on the planet.
