Can someone please explain the benefits of C1 chip?
- xuki 2y agoVertical integration. No longer depends on Qualcomm for a very critical component. Slightly higher margin.
- two_handfuls 2y agoFor us: it is smaller and consumes less power, so the phone can have a bigger battery life. For them: more control, lower marginal costs.
- supertrope 2y agoApple no longer has to pay a royalty that’s a percentage of the whole phone. Integrating the modem into the SoC saves power and space.
