Show HN: Pulse – Maintain healthy OpenSearch and Elasticsearch clusters
Hey HN - Pulse (https://pulse.support https://pulse.support) is a platform that’s making it easy for teams to maintain the health of their OpenSearch and Elasticsearch clusters.
Key features (this is not just 'another monitoring tool'):
* Proactive monitoring to detect cluster issues before they impact cost and performance
* Actionable recommendations for resolving potential issues that are detected
* Cluster health assessments - clear daily status reports for the stability, performance, security, and resiliency of your clusters
* Dashboards designed for Opensearch and Elasticsearch with pre-built views for nodes and indices, shard heat maps and k-NN vector search
* 24/7 expert (human) support to help with more nuanced, complex issues that come up
Check it out and try it - feedback and questions welcome!
- efrat25 2y agoWill this work with older Elasticsearch versions too? (I'm running ES 2.4)
- synhershko 2y agoHi! I'm the founder of Pulse. This is a great question! although it's a very old version, we do see it in the wild every so often and indeed, Pulse supports 2.x as well.
- Siddhant023 2y agoInteresting, however, we can't expose our cluster publicly (it's within a Google Cloud VPC). TBH, the lack of tools that support our config in general is frustrating. How would Pulse work in an environment like this?
- synhershko 2y agoGreat question! we created Pulse with exactly this in mind - supporting Elasticsearch (and OpenSearch) running anywhere. You don't need the cluster to be exposed publicly. Integrating with Pulse is just about installing a lightweight and secure agent, which transmits metrics (only metrics, never data) to our service.
- easyare 2y agoI've seen some similar ES solutions, but I haven't seen one like this for opensearch. What's your level of support for opensearch?
- synhershko 2y agoWe fully support both Elasticsearch and OpenSearch, each with their own specifics. For OpenSearch we support Ultrawarm / searchable snapshots, kNN vector search, and so on.
- Artemon 2y agoWhats the largest cluster you support? I’ve been looking for something thats effective at scale.
- synhershko 2y agoIt's in the hundreds of nodes.
- Genesys123 2y agoLooks cool but we’re currently using Datadog to monitor our Elasticsearch cluster, how is this different/better?
- synhershko 2y agoIt's absolutely complimentry. Pulse is an official Datadog partner and has an integration to Datadog. Pulse will send Datadog events and alerts it generates, enriching the Datadog experience.
- pradumnasaraf 2y agoLooks cool. I was looking into a similar solution recently and had a conversation with someone on this. Will check it out.
- synhershko 2y agoThis is great! Thanks! Founder of Pulse here. Happy to chat if you'd like to discuss further. I'm itamar at the pulse domain.
