This is a very valid point. There also seems to be a historical correlation of wealth imbalances and great Recession/Depression. I'm currently working on a crowdfunding (both equity and project) for universities, because I believe that democratization of the venture capital markets will be a good thing for America. Like most things, the more data points (i.e., crowd investors), the more rational and likely to succeed is the endeavor.
