I made a free browser extension to easily track Instagram unfollowers
- gooddeedsman 2y agoI had a hard time finding a trustable and easy to use option to track my IG following and unfollowers. I found a solution of David Arroyo that works by pasting some code to the browser console, but it is not easy to use and I gotta go copy the code from the internet over and over. So, I made Meerkat, a completely free extension that does all that in a button click, you just have to open your Instagram on the browser to click the button. It works for me, hopefully it makes it easy for you. Feel free to comment if you have any feedback, I would love to hear it!
- slwvx 2y agoSure, tit-for-tat in an iterated prisoners dilemma is a recognized strategy. Even so, it seems petty to unfollow someone just because they unfollow you. Why not give it a bit of time and unfollow them for a more significant reason? Does everything need to be so transactional?
- gooddeedsman 2y agoI don't think it's petty in most of the cases. I think unfollowing a friend and letting them still follow you is more disrespectful. Also, that is not the only use case. I like to keep my following neat, so I use it for occasionally unfollowing some company or celeb accs that I am not that interested in anymore. So it works also as an organizer tool, since you can query over those accounts in the extension as well.
