  Right, subsidies, tax breaks. But a big problem, especially when it comes to competing with China, is that you need your supply chain to be local too. The main reason manufacturing is so affordable in China is not just labor costs, which are now lower in some other countries than China, but because you have the entire supply chain right at hand.
