All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned, and man is at last compelled to face with sober senses his real conditions of life, and his relations with his kind. LLM training—and the massive (potential) copyright infringement that everyone is engaging in to train these models—is the latest contradiction in capitalism. For the first time in my lifetime, this contradiction isn’t harming the workers but is instead affecting a segment of the capitalist class.
