I would think there'd be a lot of utility in not blocking smoke alarm sounds, for example. The screeching from distressed infants can similarly be both very loud and very high pitched.

- FergusArgyll 2y agoI'm trying to search this and it seems the numbers for both (ear canal and infants cries) are all over the place. Do you have a specific article about the connection? Interesting if true...
- 000ooo000 2y agoI was once interested in music production, and I heard a tip to cut a notch in that frequency range to reduce perceived harshness that is speculated to be due to our sensitivity to infant cries. I can't help with a source but maybe that angle might yield something.
