However, the pressure stopped after Kyiv refused, and the meeting took place anyway. This is pathetic. You cannot strong-arm an ally with diplomacy, and evidently America realized that after trying to take something off the table that America needs more than Ukraine. Events like this are living proof of why American aid is wasted when we precondition it on political agreement with an extremist administration.
