Why not just use conventional explosives? It doesn't seem to consider the actual marginal benefit of going nuclear.
- tim333 2y agoMore bang for the buck? The paper estimates a need for 81 Gt and assuming that's 81,000,000,000 tons of TNT, that's a lot of TNT.
- 00N8 2y agoAnnual CO2 emissions are around 37 Gt, so making 81 Gt of conventional explosives would be an absurdly large undertaking & somewhat counterproductive due to associated GHG emissions.
