This is exactly my experience. Nearly every dev on my team can dive into the details and scale that service effectively, but it’s rarely worth it. If an engineer costs $100/hour, scaling an extra $100/month (or even an extra $1k/month) is generally a no brainer. That money is almost always better served towards shipping product.
