It used to be generally well known that Zakaria-types were for dimwits who mistook the appearance of insight for insight, but in an increasingly vacuous, video-soaked world, what used to be obviously pap for the plebs seems now solidly respectable, middle-brow.
- bloomingkales 2y agoThe devil is probably in the details. I don't stop watching someone because I disagree with them, if they have a generally calm and moderate tone, that's good enough for me (Fareed is awesome in that regard). The best way to see if someone is compelling on a topic is to see if they discuss it on a regular basis. Fareed is very good on the middle-east, for example. AI is a big topic, but so is transgenderism. Not everyone should be talking about it (this is indictment of many, Joe Rogan a major culprit). I'll leave it there.
