- talldayo 2y ago> yet we aren't seeing articles about the Biden administration's sites having the same issues. Because Biden didn't try to force changes overnight, wouldn't have fired the federal web design firms and would have deferred the issue to Congress for finding an actual secure contractor? Yeah, no shit we aren't seeing those. This is a unique failure of Elon's ambition and will be blamed thusly.

- talldayo 2y ago> It didn't happen because they don't hate Biden or the administration. It did happen, you just don't want to find any sources to cite because you know they will be comparatively benign. This is the US federal government, every single employee is a domestic security threat and should be kept on a tight leash. People are critical of Elon because they care about a fair economy, America's security and the rule of law. The best example I can muster of Biden's administrative incompetence is the PRC telecom hack, but that's still ongoing under the Trump admin: https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/joint-statement-from-fbi-and-cisa-on-the-peoples-republic-of-china-targeting-of-commercial-telecommunications-infrastructure https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/joint-statement-from... > In his first week, there were many sites thrown together and launched. Which is not overnight, and also not very hard when you haven't disbanded federal assets like 18F who are hired for this exact purpose. Kudos to Elon for being so enthusiastic, but as an American taxpayer I'd rather wait for him to secure the site before releasing it.

- beedeebeedee 2y ago> This is a distraction from the criminality involved in many of these organizations essentially embezzling our money. This should be the top story Please stop stating that outrageous statement- it will not make it true. Post facts. Just because there is now a witch hunt over-turning our government does not mean there is a witch (it appears as only a convenient ploy for a hostile takeover)
- sjsdaiuasgdia 2y agoWhere is the evidence of this "criminality"? Musk and Trump scream fraud a lot. Fraud has real legal definitions. "I don't like it" / "I don't agree with it" / "It's 'woke'" does not make something fraud. Buying into that perspective is intellectual dishonesty.
- gibbitz 2y agoDOGE didn't exist under Biden. True that government site security isn't great, but the same person in charge of this department has remote keys to the Treasury and has shared them with multiple civilians. The department's site lack of security suggests that keeping the keys to the Treasury secure is not too of mind at DOGE. This is concerning, understanding how relentless North Korean identity and Crypto theft campaigns have been in order to fund their government. We really should be very worried about this.
